What Do I Need To Fix My Deer Feeders?

Deer season is upon us again and by now the cat and mouse game of keeping your deer feeders running all season has begun.  With the help of a few items below you should have no problem doing some quick field repairs on anything other than a major component failure.

  • ¼” 16-14 Gauge (Blue) Female crimp-on quick disconnects
    • For wire-to-battery or  wire-to- motor terminal
  • 16-14 (Blue) Gauge multi-stack connectors
    • Great for connecting both a solar panel and a timer to the battery
  • 16-14 (Blue) Gauge crimp-on butt connectors
    • For a quick wire-to-wire
  • 12-10 (Yellow) Gauge crimp-on butt connectors
    • In case you need to cram two wires into one of the ends of the connector.
  • Electrical Tape
    • Wrap all your crimp-on connectors to minimize moisture and corrosion
  • 11”+ Cable Ties
    • Securing wires, batteries, and there are a million other uses(black resist UV better)
  • Crimper/Stripper/Cutter Tool
    • Get one with the crimper  at the tip of the tool, otherwise it can be difficult to crimp inside the feeder assembly/housing

If you don’t already carry around at least a hammer and a screwdriver just stop!  Buy the stuff above and a case of beer for a friend willing to help.
